The exam has only just begun Only a few answers we have scribbled Mark for each answer is only one But each is essay type labelled. If the ink dries up Then blood is to be used as drip If the fingers tire out Then the feet are to be used to grip The timer paces in the heart like a land rover Millions of beats it will take for the exam to be over The invigilator is only toying with the bell He is not going to press and end this ordeal It is a marathon Where w e are doing daud kadam taal What we are trying to move on Is a thick fat wall

हम तुम मिलके दिल के जोड़ें तार हैं टूटे से थोडे साज़ पे साँसों की छोड़ें ताल पे धङकन की मोड़ें मन बादल धुल जाए  मोर बदन खुल जाए  सोच का हो संगम  शोर से हो सरगम  हो जाए समा के हम में समान  एक ज़माना ज़मीन आसमान..  हम तुम मिलके दिल के जोड़ें  तार हैं टूटे से थोडे... मिलके करना है सफर ये तय अर्चनों से क्यों लगेगा भय?  देरी दूरी हो चाहे मंज़िल से साथ एक दूजे का हासिल है  दिल पे लगे चोट घावों के सारे हमसफर के पाँव के  थाम लेना तुम जो लगे ठोकर भीड़ में ना हम बिछड़ें खो कर  हम तुम मिलके दिल के जोड़ें  तार हैं टूटे से थोडे... सूरज में सोना है आग है चंदा में चांदी है दाग है  आँखों में बसते आँसू के रस्ते बातें बन के परछाईं हँसते  हम में जो खराबी खूबी है वो कमी खामी ताला चाबी हैं  खून काँटों पे गुलाब कर देंगे कीचड़ को कमल से भर देंगे  हम तुम मिलके दिल के जोड़ें तार हैं टूटे से थोडे  साज़ पे साँसों की छोड़ें ताल पे धङकन की मोड़ें  मन बादल धुल जाए मोर बदन खुल जाए  सोच का हो संगम शो...
